KLGCC is best Golf Course in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, 28 November 2013 - The Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC) bagged the ‘Best Course in Malaysia’ award for its West Course, for another consecutive year at the 2013 Asian Golf Monthly Awards held in Jakarta earlier this month.

KLGCC also emerged as the second runner up in the Best Championship Course in Asia Pacific category and nominated among the Top 10 Best in Asia Pacific in the Best Clubhouse and Best Pro-Shop categories.

Meanwhile, in another development, KLGCC was voted as the Best Golf Experience in the Best of Malaysia Awards 2013 Travel Awards by The Expatriate Lifestyle Magazine readers.

KLGCC general manager Steven Thielke said, "We are pleased and honoured to be awarded these accolades as it is a testament to the hard work and effort put in by the KLGCC employees to ensure that the Clubhouse and its Golf Courses are among the best”.

“KLGCC plays host to three major international tournaments in a year namely Sime Darby LPGA, Maybank Malaysian Open and CIMB Classic. These tournaments keep us up and running all year round to prepare and deliver world-class standards and services to our members and guests. More importantly, the tournaments are great catalysts to propel Malaysia and KLGCC to the forefront as a premier golfing destination in Asia.”

KLGCC’s West Course is no stranger to world-class golf, serving as the host of the European Tour and Asian Tour's co-sanctioned Malaysian Open for the past four years. In October this year, the West Course hosted the PGA Tour-sanctioned CIMB Classic which saw Ryan Moore winning the tournament. The West Course offers pristine playing conditions, aesthetic beauty combined with a high standard of playability - a "flagship" for the future of golf course designs and quality of playing mediums in Asia.

The Asian Golf Monthly Awards results were based on online votes polled by readers and subscribers of the Singapore-based Asian Golf Monthly and a panel of industry exponents around the region with vast knowledge of the golfing facilities within their respective geographic areas.
