Golfer's Terrace Presents A Heritage Culinary Experience

Kuala Lumpur, 5 January 2021 – Malaysia’s premier Golf and Country Club, TPC Kuala Lumpur will be featuring three exclusive menus at the all-day dining restaurant, Golfer’s Terrace for the whole month of January 2021. The recipes for the specially curated menus are inspired from the award-winning cookbook, Malaysia’s Culinary Heritage: The Best of Authentic Traditional Recipes by Datin Kalsom Taib and Datin Hamidah Abdul Hamid. 

 

Diners are in for a wonderful heritage cuisine experience that pays special attention to the preservation of the original flavour in traditional food preparation and cooking methods. The three exclusive menus are:

 

  • Nasi Kerabu Kelantan and Daging Bakar priced at RM 24++

A speciality from the state of Kelantan, the rice is flavoured with various finely chopped ulam and served with dried fish, sambal, serunding and ayam percik. 

 

  • Ayam Percik Acar Timun with White Rice priced at RM 20++

Spiced coconut milk gravy is drizzled on perfectly roasted chicken with that caramelised coating; best enjoyed with white rice or Nasi Kerabu.

 

  • Ayam Pongteh with White Rice priced at RM 22++

A classic Peranakan dish for non-spice lovers that only uses the freshest ingredients with a well-balanced flavour to entice your palate. 

 

 

This culinary collaboration between Golfer’s Terrace and Datin Kalsom as well as Datin Hamidah aims to celebrate the authenticity of traditional heritage cuisines and preserve the essence of Malaysia’s multiracial gastronomic traditions. Out of 230 recipes from the cookbook, 213 have been gazetted as traditional cuisines (Masakan Warisan) by the Department of National Heritage, under the National Heritage Act (Act 645).

 

The Malaysia’s Culinary Heritage cookbook has been nominated for the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards competition 2021, proudly representing Malaysia in three different categories namely Book of the Year, Food Heritage and Photography awards respectively. The results will be announced on 5 June 2021 in Paris. TPC Kuala Lumpur members can enjoy special price of the cookbook at only RM165 nett.
