Kuala Lumpur, Tuesday 7 June 2018 - In the past years, TPC Kuala Lumpur successfully hosted break-fasting ceremonies with Muslim children from local orphanages but this year’s event came with a twist that held a special meaning for the club’s golf course team. Inspired by the saying ‘charity starts from home’, the world’s top 100 greatest golf course; feted its 200 deserving greenkeepers to a break-fasting ceremony this month as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.

Earlier this year, 3 major milestones were achieved namely TPC Kuala Lumpur proudly secured the 78th position in the World’s Top 100 Greatest Golf Courses by Golf Digest International, 88th place in the Top 100 Platinum Golf & Country Clubs of the World and 19th place in the Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia. These recognitions render TPC Kuala Lumpur as the undisputed championship golf course in the region to date.

At the same time, the club’s West Course is currently undergoing a major upgrading project which is expected to be completed in time for the coveted PGA Tour-sanctioned CIMB Classic happening this October. TPC Kuala Lumpur’s greenkeepers literally toil on the golf courses day and night regardless of Malaysia’s erratic weather conditions throughout the year.

“Our (TPC Kuala Lumpur) Golf Course team is one of the toughest teams and has been working very hard in consistently delivering world class golfing experience to our members and guests. We truly appreciate their dedication, support and sacrifices over the years. Hence we are celebrating them during this holy month and hope this will be a tradition in years to come,” said Steven Thielke, Chief Executive of TPC Kuala Lumpur.

The event started with a group photo session on the golf course and followed by a Maghrib congregation led by the euphonious Landscape staff, Sarifudin. The crowd then proceeded to the nicely decorated area within the golf workshop for a buffet dinner. A sumptuous menu of beef, lamb, chicken, rice, vegetables and moth-watering desserts were served.
